Welcome to the ESL Tutoring Center - Summer 2026
The ESL tutoring center offers support with grammar, vocabulary development, topic sentences, thesis statements, paragraph/essay organization, cohesion, essay revision, homework questions, conversation, and pronunciation. Individual tutoring is available free of charge to all English language learners currently enrolled at Santa Monica College.
Making a Tutoring Appointment
Appointments are made online via Corsair Connect. To schedule an appointment, log into Corsair Connect and click on the link for tutoring appointments. You will be asked to register the first time you use the system. Then select ESL - Summer 2026 from the dropdown menu. Students can make 2 appointments each week. Appointments generally last 30 minutes per visit. Cancellations should be made at least 4 hours in advance and are made online on the same site where you schedule an appointment.
For Summer 2026, tutoring appointments will take place on-ground in two different locations. On the SMC main campus, tutoring will take place in Drescher 315. On the Bundy campus, tutoring will take place in Bundy 228. Please see below for a list of the specific days, times, and locations for ESL tutoring.

Who are the tutors?
The ESL department tutors are highly-trained specialists with advanced degrees. They are familiar with our courses and the assignments that our instructors require. They can also direct students to resources for self-study and further language learning. We offer tutoring throughout the school year, including the intersessions (winter and summer).
How should I prepare for my appointment?
ESL tutors can help you with any aspect of your English/ESL coursework, but they do not have prepared lessons. You should bring any class materials or assignments that you would like help with. Think of specific questions that you want answers to.
